The Wheel of Life

The purpose of this wheel is to assess how 'in balance' the different aspects of your life are. This inventory asks how satisfied you are right now with your life. It is, of course, a snapshot that changes day-by-day and year-by-year. Staying in balance is an active stance. Your daily choices and responses build this wheel. Where you put your energy and focus determines its shape!

Directions:

Draw a wheel like the one below and fill it in with your own scores as indicated in the example opposite.

Score each section on a scale of 1 to 10. Rank your level of satisfaction with each area of your life by drawing a line to create a new rim - Zero being nearest the hub of the wheel and 10 being out on the rim. The new perimeter of the circle represents your Wheel of Life.

Example:

To see the new rim, move your cursor over the image in the example above.
As you can see, things are out of balance in this case!
How balanced is your life?
" Often people try to live their lives backwards: they try to have more things, or more money, in order to do more of what they want so that they will be happier. The way it actually works is the reverse. You must first be who you really are, then, do what you really need to do, in order to have what you want." - Margaret Young
